The basic operating system is Windows 7, but I will share the experience for you, who have trouble to install Windows XP on Compaq CQ-41. This time I used nLite, a tool for pre-installation Windows configuration and component removal at your choice. Optional bootable image ready for burning on media or testing in virtual machines. With nLite you will be able to have Windows installation which on install does not include, or even contain on media, the unwanted components. Nlite enables you to integrate update packages and programs otherwise included in windows update to simplify and speed up windows installation. Some of the features included in Nlite are automated installation, where the process of entering a product key (volume or not), setting the administrator's password, regional settings and user account settings and names beforehand. It can also, through addons and Hotfixes install extra third party programs automatically.
